An internet outage that affected the Northern Illinois University I-fiber system a few weeks ago cut service temporarily to the Ottawa police and fire telecommunication center. Mayor Dan Aussem says the city needs a backup internet provider.
The backup service will come from MTCO. Aussem says there’s almost no chance of both services being down at the same time.
