Habitat for Humanity ready to dedicate south side Ottawa home

By Billy Thompson Aug 10, 2020 | 8:39 AM

The new Habitat for Humanity home on Ottawa’s south side is ready to be dedicated. Executive Director Sally Van Cura says Valerie McAvoy and her daughters will live there. After ten months of volunteers helping build the home at 1206 Catherine St., they’re going through punch list items now.

The home took longer than planned to build, in part because of the pandemic. But Van Cura says the need for volunteers there is over now. Now, she invites people to volunteer on a rehab project at a home on Ottawa’s west side.
