The LaSalle County Health Department reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The total number of cases is at 785. Mendota leads the county in cases with 171, followed by Ottawa with 119 and Streator with 117. The cases range in age from their teens to their seventies.
Five new recoveries were announced for a total of 300. The recovery rate is currently 38.2 percent.
The State of Illinois announced 1,319 new cases and only one additional death. State figures are at 195,399 cases and 7,637 deaths. 1,481 people are currently hospitalized for the virus in Illinois.
