If you are behind on rent, there could be some relief coming your way. The Starved Rock Country Community Foundation is accepting applications for the Emergency Rental Assistance program starting today.
The Foundation will provide renters impacted by COVID-19 $5,000 for back rent and prepay through 2020. The foundation says that household income must be at or below 80 percent area median income. You also must have an unpaid rent balance that began on or after March 1 of this year.
The deadline to apply is August 21.
Those seeking assistance with their mortgage can start applying for assistance on Aug. 24.
