The LaSalle County Health Department says two additional people have died due to COVID-19 on Wednesday. A total of 37 people have died because of the virus in LaSalle County. The individuals are a man in his eighties and a woman in her nineties.
The county also surpassed 1000 total cases, adding 15 today for a total of 1,010 cases so far.
Twenty two new recoveries were also announced, bringing the total to 517. The recovery rate is at 51.2 percent.
The State of Illinois reported the highest daily increase in cases since May with 2,295 new cases and 25 additional deaths. State figures are at 211,889 cases and 7,806 deaths. The state also set a single-day record in testing with over 50,000 in one day. 1,519 people are currently hospitalized for the virus in Illinois. 334 are currently in ICU beds and 144 are on ventilators.
