Twenty-one more names have been added to the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles this year. They are men and women from the American military killed in military action in that part of the world. Marseilles City Commissioner Jim Buckingham says the names will be read at 10am this Saturday, August 22.
The rest of the Freedom Festival events won’t happen. The Freedom Festival, along with the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run, would have happened in June. It was one of the many events cancelled or postponed this year because of the pandemic. That’s when the names have been read every year ever since the memorial wall was dedicated.
