The LaSalle County Health Department reported one additional COVID-19 related death on Friday. There has been at least one death every day this week. The individual is a woman in her seventies. Thirty-nine people have died due to the virus county-wide.
The county also announced 36 new cases, bringing the county total to 1,069.
The State of Illinois announced 2,208 new cases and 24 additional deaths for a total of 215,929 cases and 7,857 deaths. State officials also reported more than 51,000 tests in a single day. 1,526 people are currently hospitalized for the virus in Illinois. 351 are in the ICU while 121 are on ventilators.
