You can satisfy your appetite and keep the LaSalle County Historical Society funded through 2021. Amanda Carter Events Coordinator and Museum Manager of the LaSalle County Historical Society told WCMY about upcoming events.

The usual Fundraiser also known as BURGOO had to be canceled this year due to COVID 19 pandemic. A modified version being called the Canal Market Finale will take its place.

Exhibits at the Historical Society include the actual carriage President Abraham Lincoln rode in from the Ottawa train station to his debate with Stephen Douglas. Also on display is the bonnet worn by the mother of the two young women Sylvia Hall and Rachel Hall. The Hall sisters were held for eleven days a party of about forty to eighty Potawatomi Indians.

The LaSalle County Historical Society Campus is located on the banks of the Historic I & M canal in Utica.
