The Peru police department has a new officer. Michelle DePompeis took the oath at last night’s City Council meeting.
Police Chief Doug Bernabei says she’s from the state of New York, graduated from the police academy in San Diego in 2016, and worked for the San Diego Harbor Patrol. He says their loss is Peru’s gain. DePompeis has been living in Peru for two years.
