However long the coronavirus is around, the city of Peru wants to be prepared. The city’s technology department is looking at getting more microphones and other technology to make it easier for people to follow city council meetings online.

During last night’s meeting, made public via the Zoom online platform, the city got a complaint that it’s hard to hear everyone speaking at the meeting. That’s because not everyone was next to a microphone when he or she spoke. The technology director said more microphones would help and there may be coronavirus grant money to pay for them.
