Republican Cong. Adam Kinzinger says Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg “undoubtedly left her mark on this world and her commitment to the rule of law will inspire generations to come”. He says she stood as a role model to many and the country is better for her service.

Democratic Congressional candidate Dani Brzozowski says she’s scared for what Ginsburg’s passing means. She says Ginsburg was a champion for marginalized people everywhere and a lot of people’s rights hang in the balance now.

Sen. Dick Durbin says the highest court’s “most valiant champion for justice in our lifetime is gone”. He says Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell didn’t want an Obama nominee appointed during an election year, and the Senate should likewise refuse to consider a Trump nominee this year.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth says the country lost a giant “who gave a voice to girls and women everywhere and moved the needle forward in our long fight toward justice and equality for all”.

Gov. JB Pritzker says Ginsburg’s legacy will continue “only if we fight as hard as she did to protect it”.
