The season is over for the White Sox after falling to the A’s 6-4 in their best-of-three AL Wild Card Series. Luis Robert drilled a 487-foot home run for the Sox, while Evan Marshall took the loss in relief.

 

The Cubs and Marlins will make up Game Two this afternoon in their NL Wild Card Series at Wrigley Field.  The game was postponed yesterday due to the weather throughout the day. Yu Darvish will take the mound for the Northsiders.

 

The Cardinals and Padres will play a decisive Game Three tonight in their NL Wild Card series as San Diego rallied to beat St. Louis 11-9 in Game Two on the West Coast. Jack Flaherty will start Game Three for St. Louis.

 

The Bears host the Colts this Sunday at Soldier Field.  Chicago comes in at 3-and-0, while Indianapolis is 2-and-1.

 

The Broncos rallied past the Jets 37-28 on Thursday Night Football.

 

At the Sanderson Farms Championship, Defending champion Sebastian Munoz is in a four-way tie after 1 round of golf.

The Illinois High School Association appeared as the defendant in a Temporary Restraining Order hearing at  DuPage County’s Circuit Court yesterday.  The judge ruled in favor of the IHSA and did not grant the order that would  rescind the decision to implement modified seasons in the fall, winter, spring, and summer in  the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The plaintiffs for the restraining order were three parents of high school athletes from Dupage County.
