Tuesday Sports Update

The Lady Pirates golf team finished 2nd with a score of  232 at the triangular meet at  Cedardell Golf Course.  Plano won with a winning score of 218 and Indian Creek was 3rd with a final of 252.

  • Ottawa’s leading scorers were Abi Claus with a 54 and Zoe Harris who led the Ottawa team with a score of 52.

 

Last night was a double header for Monday Night Football.  Patrick Mahomes threw two second-half touchdowns as the Chiefs pulled away to beat the Patriots 26-10 in KC.  Aaron Rodgers fired four TD passes as the Packers defeated the winless Falcons 30-16 at Lambeau Field.

 

The Bears signed Lamar Miller to their practice squad.  The veteran running back has appeared in 105 NFL games with 89 starts over seven seasons with the Dolphins and Texans. Miller was voted to the Pro Bowl with Houston in 2018.

 

 The Bears are quickly getting ready for a Thursday night matchup at home against the Buccaneers.  Chicago suffered their first loss of the season Sunday, falling to the Colts 19-11 at Soldier Field. 

 

Bill O’Brien became the first NFL head coach fired this season.  He was let go by the Houston Texans on Monday after an 0-and-4 start.  

 

 In the MLB, the American Leagues Division Series had their  openers.  The Astros beat the A’s 10-5 in Los Angeles and The Yankees beat the Rays 9-3 in San Diego.  The National Division Series starts today.

 

The Lakers and Heat play pivotal Game Four of the NBA Finals tonight inside the league bubble in Orlando.  The Lakers lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1

 

The Blackhawks are ready for the start of the 2020 NHL Draft tonight.   The Hawks first selection is in the first round at number 17.  The draft will be held virtually after being delayed due to concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic.
