Cong. Adam Kinzinger says Tom Kilbride should not be retained on the Illinois Supreme Court and voters can make that happen in two weeks

Congressman Adam Kinzinger held a news conference Wednesday. He said:

Kinzinger wonders how Justice Thomas Kilbride is able to make independent decisions on the Illinois Supreme Court while allowing House Speaker Mike Madigan to fund his campaign.

In two weeks, Kinzinger believes the people of Illinois will vote not to retain Kilbride because of perceived corruption in Springfield.

The Illinois Republican Party claims Kilbride’s decisions on the bench have ruled against term limits for state offices, struck down pension reform, and struck down a measure for fair maps of state legislative districts in 2016.

Kilbride has always stated he’s a fair and impartial judge, many of the decisions he’s been part of were bi-partisan and unanimous.

Kinzinger stated Wednesday that 600,000 people of Illinois rose up and signed a petition to create non partisan redistricting. When Justice Kilbride voted against that, Mike Madigan seemed to reward him with a campaign contribution for retention.
