Towns and cities across the Illinois Valley have announced their Trick-or-Treat hours

The night is quickly approaching when the streets will be filled with ghosts and goblins.

As always, there are a few important Halloween safety guidelines that should be observed to ensure the night runs smoothly.

If you plan to Trick or Treat in Ottawa, Marseilles, Naplate, Streator, La Salle, Peru or Mendota, the officially sanctioned hours are 5 to 7pm.

Troy Grove chose not to officially announce sanctioned hours.

Plan ahead for inclement weather as no last minute schedule changes are available.

Follow safety guidelines. Your face covering may be your costume mask as long as it covers your nose and mouth.

Do not enter homes to receive treats.
Young children should be accompanied by an adult.
Older trick-or-treaters should stay in groups.
