Tuesday Sports Update

The Ottawa Dolphins competed in their first meet of the season at the Illinois Valley Y in Peru. The Dolphins placed 2nd with 436.5 points and had 58 swimmers participate for Ottawa.

The Times announced their annual Boys and Girls Golf All-Area Honor Roll.

The Dodgers will look to wrap up the World Series in Game Six tonight.  Tony Gonsolin is expected to take the mound for the Dodgers, who hold a 3-2 series lead over the Rays.  Tampa Bay is expected to counter with Blake Snell.  Los Angeles is looking to claim its first World Series title since 1988.

 

 The Bears suffered a lopsided 24-10 loss to the Rams on Monday Night Football.  Nick Foles completed 28 of 40 passes for 261 yards with two interceptions for Chicago, which fell to 5-and-2.  Eddie Jackson returned a fumble for a TD in defeat.  The Bears offense failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season.  Chicago hosts the Saints on Sunday.  

 

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee.  Beckham suffered the injury early in Sunday’s win at Cincinnati. The Browns sit at 5-and-2 on the season.

 

NASCAR’s playoff race at Texas is being postponed once again.  The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway has been moved to Today due to rain.
