It took hours for fire fighters to douse the flames well enough to enter a house in Spring Valley Friday morning. When they got in, they found the bodies of a person and a dog.
The house was fully engulfed in flames when fire departments arrived. They tried to get in, but couldn’t stay long enough to get anyone out because of how big the fire was and the risk of the house collapsing.
Spring Valley’s fire department got help from LaSalle, Cherry, Oglesby, Dalzell, Peru, and Ladd fire fighters.
