Peru donors support fountain, statue, and clock projects

Peru Mayor Scott Harl says the people he has asked for money to support projects around the city have been generous. He says no one has turned him down. Everyone he asks wants to help. He’s received about $80,000 to be spent later on a new city clock and some statues.

The most obvious thing donated money has been spent on is the new fountain at the center of the roundabout at Plank Rd. and Peoria St. Harl says no city taxpayer money went into it other than having city workers do regular work there. He says donations will also cover the holiday decorations that will be there soon.
