New Festival Of Lights plan in place to collect toys and books

There will be no Festival of Lights Parade this year due to COVID 19.

The Sunrise Rotary Toy and Book Float will be at Washington Park on November 28th and at the Farm and Fleet parking lot on December 5th from 10 am to 2pm this year to drop off toys and books.

Sandy Robinson of the Ottawa Sunrise Rotary Club says that original float is well cared for in the off season:

Even though the City of Ottawa canceled the parade, the Sunrise Rotary Club scrambled to set up multiple collection points.

Bill Walsh’s five Ottawa dealerships will have oversized boxes that look like giant gifts themselves to drop off toys and books.

You can also bring your unwrapped gifts and toys for underprivileged area kids to Edward Jones at 128 Norris Drive and 100 West Main Street. They will go straight to the Salvation Army for kids to come and claim.
