Seneca resident’s property tax rate to go down

The Seneca High School District expects their budget to go down next year because about 1 million in debt is coming off their Accounts Payable books and that means lower property taxes.

Superintendent Jim Carlson explains:

The last of some bonds are expected to be paid off through a tax levy.

The Board also discussed whether or not a basketball season would take place. The IHSA is all for a season and the Illinois Department of Health says not so fast.

The Seneca Board discussed the situation and decided they must go along with the IDPH’s recommendations. Only skills exercises on a one on one basis are allowed without practices or games under tier-one mitigations.
