IVCC’s Dental Assisting program is the only one in Illinois that offers students the Expanded Functions Certificate and that makes them more valuable and hirable.
Heather Seghi, the Dental Assisting Program Coordinator at Illinois Valley Community College says they are looking to save students as much money as possible.
The AAS program is an Associate in Applied Science in Dental Assisting which takes 1 and a half to 2 years and 60 credits to receive.
It is one of four certificates available at IVCC.
All certificates take various time and credit hours to obtain. They are a mixture of online and face-to-face courses that include lab work and clinical practice and you can get hired if you possess any of them.
