The Rams held off the Buccaneers 27-24 on Monday Night Football in Tampa.  Jared Goff passed for 376 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions as the Rams improved to 7-and-3.  Brady threw for 216 yards, two TD’s and two picks as The Bucs tumbled to 7-and-4.

The NFL is tightening COVID-19 protocols once again.  The NFL sent a memo to teams Monday outlining more changes to the rules as they continue to look for ways to limit the spread of the virus.  Starting this week, any players not substituting or entering the field of play will now be required to wear a mask at all times.  Post-game interactions will be further limited and play-callers using face shields are also now required to wear a mask in addition to the shield.

Bears coach Matt Nagy is still deciding who will start at quarterback for Sunday night’s NFC North clash against the Packers in Green Bay.  Both Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky are recovering from injuries, which will play a key factor in the decision.  Trubisky started the first three games of the year before being benched in favor of Foles in the second half of a Week 3 win in Atlanta. The Bears are returning from their bye week and are looking to snap a four-game losing streak.

The Chicago Cubs announced yesterday that it has agreed to terms with Jed Hoyer on a new five-year contract that keeps him with the organization through the 2025 season.  Hoyer was recently promoted to president following the departure of Theo Epstein last week.  The 46-year-old Hoyer has been with the Cubs since 2011, previously serving as general manager under Epstein.

The White Sox and New York Yankees are getting another chance to play at the Field of Dreams next year.  MLB announced yesterday that the teams are tentatively scheduled to meet August 12th in Dyersville, Iowa, in an eight-thousand seat temporary ballpark built on the farm where the Oscar-nominated 1989 film “Field of Dreams” was shot.  It will be the first MLB game ever played in Iowa.

Tomorrow in college basketball, The fighting Illini takes on North Carolina A&T. The ISU Redbirds travel to Ohio State and the NIU Huskies will host the UIC Flames.
