Robert “Bob” Gordon, 82

Robert “Bob” Gordon, 82, of Ottawa passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Due to Covid guidelines, a private service will be held at St. Columba Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. He will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Bob was born February 5, 1938 in Ottawa to Robert and Irene (Drury) Gordon. He married Florence Kennedy on February 4, 1967 at Queen of Apostle Church in Riverdale, IL. They were married for 45 years before her passing on September 21, 2012.

Bob retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as an engineer. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago White Sox. He was a member of St. Columba Church.

He is survived by his nephews, Richard of Las Vegas, William (Angie) of LaSalle, Gordon (Naomi) of Reno, NV, David (Kim) of Ottawa, and Douglas (Dayle) Stafford of Sheridan; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Peggy Gordon and Norma Stafford.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, great-nephews, Matthew Stafford and Mark Bucz; and his longtime friend, Frank Youngblood.

Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Church or St. Columba School.
