St. Rep. David Welter says the resignation of Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Director Linda Chapa LaVia is a necessary step in bringing accountability. The Morris Republican says the Pritzker administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak at the LaSalle veterans home has been lackluster. St. Sen. Sue Rezin also says the resignation is a necessary step. But she says Gov. Pritzker should have gotten rid of LaVia and shouldn’t have left it up to her to step down.
