St. Rep. Tom Demmer of Dixon says the new state legislature needs to work on pandemic relief.
As for the new House Speaker, Demmer says he looks forward to working with people on the other side of the aisle to improve government transparency and make sure people’s voices are heard. Demmer is a Dixon Republican.
Demmer and the other lawmakers were sworn in Wednesday for the 102nd General Assembly. Third District Appellate Court Judge Mary K. O’Brien, a former state lawmaker herself, gave them the oath.
