A band shell, an ice resurfacing machine, and a sculpture are three big things people are donating to the city of Peru. Mayor Scott Harl says the band shell will go in Centennial Park. The ice resurfacing machine is for the skate park. And the sculpture’s destination hasn’t been decided. It’s a grandfather and granddaughter sitting on a bench.
Harl wants it to go somewhere safe for people to get to but also where it’s unlikely to be vandalized. He talked about the donations with the City Council last night. He said the donors aren’t ready for their names to be public yet. He also said he continues to be amazed at people’s generosity.
