Scholarship applications are available now for the Joseph J. Hohner Scholarship for the 2021 to 2022 school year. Hohner was a doctor in Ottawa. He died 49 years ago and left a half-million dollars to provide interest income for scholarships to support full time higher education students who live in LaSalle County.
Most of the awards go to college students, but they can also go to trade school students and students at elementary or high schools where tuition is required. Applications are available through the LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam Regional Office of Education. Applications are due April 15.
