Lura Louise (Neitzel) Gilkerson, 67 of Streator passed away Saturday evening February 20, 2021 at her home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lura was born on February 11, 1954 in Streator to Ross and Darlene (Mc Cumsey) Neitzel. She married Jack Gilkerson on August 10, 1990. He survives.
Also surviving are sons, Daniel (Pamela) Rogers of Ottawa, Brandon (Jessie Yacko) Rogers of Grand Ridge, Jack A. (Rebecca) Gilkerson of the Netherlands, Chad E. (Shea) Gilkerson of Streator, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers, Alan (Carol) Neitzel of Elwood and Ron (Carole) Neitzel of Streator, 1 niece and 4 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Lura attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1972. She was employed for 25 years at Con Agra Foods, was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Lura loved doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling in the RV with her dogs, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and watching NFL Football.
