Steven L. O’Flanagan, 73, of Marseilles, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at his home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 28 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Clark of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene officiating. Military honors will follow services at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
Steve was born January 6, 1948, in Menomonie, WI, to Stuart and Norma (Frizle) O’Flanagan. In 1982, he married Barbara Swartz of Marseilles who survives.
He served in the US Air Force for 10 years, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Marseilles VFW Post # 5506 and Marseilles American Legion Post # 235. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Andrea O’Flanagan-Lugar of FL and Susan (Reid Jacobs) Churchill of MD; two sons, Jeff Churchill and Mike (Sommer) Churchill of Marseilles; seven grandchildren including, Ethan, Samuel, Abigail and Gunner Churchill; one great-grandchild; and his sister, Lois Pettyjon of SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond O’Flanagan.
