I was fortunate to discover them at a festival show in 1996 and was hooked from the first song. This belongs on the list as one of the best covers of all-time. I had never heard of Screaming Females before, but was sure to seek them out after this killer rendition. It buries 10,000 Maniacs version.
Garbage is such a different band. I don’t know if we did a great job of talking about influences on this episode. But this Youtube Channel for a big record store in Hollywood has a cool show called ‘What’s in my Bag,’ where they have musicians walk through the store and grab things they want to buy. You get a pretty good sense of what they’re into from it. It’s worth the watch.
