James “Jim” Lamb
1944 – 2021

James Lamb, 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 on Tuesday, March 2, at Mueller Funeral Home, in Ottawa with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

He was born on December 22,1944, to Louis & Mary (Kennedy) Lamb. He was a graduate of Marquette High School and he received his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University. He went on to receive an education degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree from Illinois State University.

He was an educator in the Ottawa Elementary District for over 35 years, a career which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie, and 2 sons, John (Erin) Lamb of Lisle, and Michael (Brittany Warning) Lamb of Ottawa, and 1 grandson, Cayden John Lamb. He is also survived by his brother Don (Ann) Lamb of Naperville, his sister-in-law, Anna Lamb of Plainfield, his brother-in-law, Karl Juergensen of Marseilles, and 5 nieces & 1 nephew whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents

He absolutely loved his family and his sons, nieces, and nephews sporting events. He was their biggest fan. He also loved tutoring, gardening, working in his flower beds, and family activities. His happy place was his condo at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He also loved his Cubbies & Wrigley Field.

Preferred forms of remembrance are Starved Rock Regional Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or organization of donor’s choice.
