Nabisco building closer to sale

By WCMY News Mar 4, 2021 | 1:48 PM

A developer could be close to buying the former Nabisco building by the Marseilles riverfront. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says some investors who’ve been looking into it for a year want to put condominiums and business space in it. The most visible part of the building dates to the 1920’s, and some parts go back to 1902.

In the site’s heyday, National Biscuit Company employed more than 400 people in a paper mill and cardboard box factory there. Hollenbeck talked about it Thursday on WCMY’s Morning Meeting.
