ROOTS with ROBB: Rank GnR Appetite for Destruction Tracks!

By WCMY News Mar 4, 2021 | 1:45 PM

We’ve done Guns n’ Roses roots before, but decided to re-visit Appetite for Destruction on its own.  Why?  Why Not!  So we decided to each rank all 12 songs on the record from 12 to 1 in order of our personal favorites.  Listen to the show and refer to the lists below for our rankings.  There is a good Bonus Content chat at the end of the audio feed where we outline the direct line of influence on GnR (hello Aerosmith and the Stones), plus talk about all the great stuff on the massive 51-track ‘super deluxe’ release including the massive singles they held off of Appetite to release later in their career, and the unbelieveable true story behind the recording of ‘Rocket Queen.’  Just look for the small station logo under the audio line for the beginning of Bonus material.

Our Roots Song of the Day:

GnR made a video for It’s So Easy back in the day that MTV deemed ‘too racy.’ By 2021 WAP world standards, it’s pretty tame.  Of course both that version and the one below contains colorful language.

Next Week:  Steely Dan
