Last night in Boys basketball, Ottawa traveled to Plano and dominated the Reapers 71-40.

The Pirates were led by Anthony Cooper with  37-points and Luke Cushing added  12 points for the victory.

 

Marquette finished the season defeating Putnam County 65-55. The Crusaders final game with  Woodland for Friday was cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols for the Warriors.

Lucas Hoffman scored a season-high 27 points with seven rebounds

And Victor Mullen finished with 15 points for the Crusaders.

 

Streator won big at home against Wilmington 72-43

Jack Haynes had 20 points  and Payton Benning scored 14 points to lead the Bulldog

 

Serena defeated Depue 56-37

Ben Shugrue led the Huskers with 12points

 

Earlville lost to  Indian Creek 79-40.

Bryar Keller led the Red Raiders with 8 points in the loss.

 

Sycamore defeated the L-P Cavaliers 65-39   

 

And Seneca had to end their season early due to COVID-19 protocols

 

Girls results from last night

Ottawa dominated the Plano Lady Reapers at Kingman gym 41-11

Zoe Harris led the way for the Lady Pirates with a game-high 13 points. 

The JV squad also won 38-10

 

L-P Lady lost on their home court to Sycamore. 65-39

Leading the Lady Cavaliers was Lauren Klein  with 13 points.

 

Serena defeated Indian Creek 59-52

Katie Baker led the Lady Huskers with 24 points.

 

Games scheduled tonight for the girls.

Streator travels to Coal City, Seneca is on the road at Henry and Earlville will compete at Somonauk

 

The Ottawa bowling team won at home over Streator

HIgh rollers for the Pirates,  Zander Parise had a series high of a 601 and a high game of 216. Ty Trovero added a 537 series score and a 211 high game.

 

College Basketball

The Northwestern Wildcats outscored Maryland 60-55

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to  North Carolina State 80-69

 

Zach LaVine scored a game-high 36 points as the Bulls held on to beat the Pelicans 128-124 in New Orleans.  Coby White added 25-points and Thaddeus Young contributed 18-points off the bench for the Bulls.

 

The White Sox fell 6-5 to the Royals at Surprise Stadium. Bennett Sousa was tagged with the loss and a blown save.  The Sox visit the Giants today. 

 

Joc Pederson and Anthony Rizzo both blasted two-run homers as the Cubs tied the Mariners 8-8 in Mesa. Ottawa’s Michael Hermosillo added a solo-shot for the Cubs who visit the Dodgers tonight.

 

The Blackhawks host the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight.  The Hawks are fourth in the division at 12-7-and-4. 

 

The PGA Tour stops in Orlando, Florida this week for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
