Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois believes many hate crimes against Asian Americans never get categorized as hate crimes. She says she’s asked FBI Director Chris Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland to look into that.
The number of incidents that have been categorized as hate crimes against Asian Americans has increased 150% over the last few years in America’s major cities. There were more than 3,800 such crimes last year. Duckworth spoke on CBS’ Face the Nation.
