Also on Saturday the L-P Cavaliers travel to Plano to take on the Reapers.

 

Last night in high school football,  the Streator Bulldogs lost at home to Herscher 34-7. 

 

The St Bede Bruins were on the road and outscored Erie-Prophetstown 24-21.

 

The Ottawa Pirates soccer team ended in a 1-1 tie at home against Morris 

 

In girls Volleyball,  Streator lost to Herscher 25-22 and 25-14 

 

Tune in all weekend long for White Sox baseball when they take on the Angels in Anaheim. Tonight Dallas Keuchel takes the mound against Andrew Heany. Pregame at 8pm with the first pitch at 8:38.

Saturday night pitcher Lance Lynn leads the South-Siders with the pregame starting at 7:30 First pitch at 8:07pm. 

End the weekend with the White Sox on Sunday night when Dylan Cease takes the mound to wrap up the series in Anaheim . Pre-game begins at 7pm  first pitch at 7:37. Catch all the action this weekend on 1430AM WCMY.

 

The White Sox allowed two-runs in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 4-3 defeat at the Angels on Opening Day.  Aaron Bummer took the loss and Adam Eaton drilled a two-run homer for the South-Siders.

 

The Cubs walked eleven batters and managed only two hits in a season-opening 5-3 loss to the Pirates at Wrigley Field. Kyle Hendricks was tagged with the loss after allowing three-runs in three innings.  The series continues tomorrow. 

 

Dylan Carlson’s three-run homer highlighted a six-run opening inning that propelled the Cards to an 11-6 Opening Day win over the Reds at Great American Ball Park. Giovanny Gallegos got the win in the relief.  Game two of the series is on Saturday.   

 

The Blackhawks rallied to tie the game twice in the third period, but the Hurricanes took a 4-3 win at the United Center after scoring a last minute goal.  Dominik Kubalik, Brandon Hagel and Dylan Strome all found the net for the Hawks while Kevin Lankinen made 27 stops in the loss.  The Blackhawks visit the Predators tomorrow

 

The Chicago Bulls will look to get back on track tonight against the Utah Jazz.   The Bulls are coming off a 121-116 defeat to the Phoenix Suns from Wednesday.   

  

The NCAA Final Four is tomorrow in Indianapolis.  Top-seeded Gonzaga takes a 30-and-0 record into its matchup with 11th-seeded UCLA.  Fellow top seed Baylor battles second-seeded Houston in the other semifinal.  The national championship game takes place on Monday.

 

North Carolina men’s basketball coach Roy Williams is calling it a career.  The 70-year-old Hall of Famer retired on Thursday after 33 years as a college head coach.
