Update: the deadline to submit videos has been extended to Sunday, April 18.
The public will get a chance to say who gets to be the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp mascot. General Manager June Keeley says those interested in the job can shoot short videos of themselves and email them to the team this week. Some finalists will be chosen and get to dress in the Southclaw Sam costume for auditions. The public will vote on the finalists’ performances.
The Prospect League’s season runs May 27th through August 4th or later for the teams that go to the championships. The Pistol Shrimp are making Veterans Park in Peru their home field.
