David Grant Calhoun Jr., 75 of Streator passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021 surrounded by his wife of 45 years and his daughter at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 12noon until 1:30 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
David was born on December 16, 1945 in Sibley, Iowa to David Grant and Grace (Schrick) Calhoun Sr. He married Beverly (Tait) Vergonet on December 13, 1975. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Catherine Calhoun of FL, Susan (Richard) Kleb of TX, Kenneth Vergonet of CA, Robert Vergonet of IL, Linda (Jack) Pennuto of KY, Thomas (Natalie) Vergonet of CA and Wendy (Don) McCloskey of IL, 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, sister, Diana Grace Carey of KY, niece, Dawn (Brian) Walls, nephews, Cash Carey, Ricky Boise, Jeff Jett and Simon Fuller, great niece, Amanda and great nephew R.J.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
David attended school at the Chicago Jr. Boarding School in Elgin and the Latin School in Chicago. He was formerly employed with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Union.
