Since four year Illinois universities only need 60 credits from transfer students, Illinois Valley Community College has changed the amount you need to graduate with.
The IVCC administration has reduced the credit-hour threshold for associate’s degrees from 64 to 60 credits to graduate.
Dr Deborah Anderson, vice president of academic affairs at the college says while they’re dropping the amount of credits needed some students still might need more than 60.
Anderson says if you’re in a curriculum like math or science then more credits might be needed.
Anderson says this move is what’s best for the students.
The Illinois Community College Board said it strongly encouraged the IVCC administration to make the move.
