ROOTS with ROBB: The Eurythmics!

By Billy Thompson Apr 15, 2021 | 1:30 PM

I’m hard pressed at the moment to think of too many other artists who put out so many consistent albums through through 1 decade while changing sounds and styles than the Eurythmics, except for maybe their biggest influence, David Bowie.  From elements of New Wave, Post-Punk and Krautrock on their debut, to their Synth-Pop heydays, to very well-respected turns into Arena Rock with R&B and Motown, this duo navigated them all.  I think without them, Roxette doesn’t exist, and without Annie Lennox, there is no Adele.  The one thing we didn’t talk about on this episode was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which they’re NOT a part of.  They’ve been nominated twice, but haven’t been selected yet.  I can think of several bands they should’ve got into the Hall beforehand.  BONUS CONENT starts at 9:20.
