Illinois hunters bag more turkeys in 2019 than 2018

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says hunters took 15,189 wild turkeys in the 2019 hunting season. That’s 1,695 more than last year. In LaSalle County, hunters bagged 115 turkeys. Bureau County hunters took 212 and Putnam County hunters took 43. Illinois’ record was set in 2006 hunters hunters harvested 16,569 turkeys.
